SPIRIT is something inherent in every one of us and no one can take it away.
Spirit is God-breathed. It is what powers you physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is the energy that keeps your heart beating and gives you life, the very life that sustains you.
COWGIRL SPIRIT speaks of two things.
Firstly, that you take all that you’ve been given and impart it with courage and vigour so you can live the life that has been planned for you.
Secondly, that you live your life with more inspiration, rather than by regulation.
Living with cowgirl spirit is not a fashion but a way of life. It’s about learning to be fearless and resourceful, independent, genuine, and above all else, faithful. Cowgirls are determined, they are passionate about life, and they are true to themselves. From an early age, they exemplify courage and perseverance in everything they do. History tells us that it was never easy being a cowgirl, yet these women were heroic. Not just because of the work they did or the challenges they faced but because they stood for something. Through hardship, determination, and independence, they emerged stronger. They overcame life’s difficulties and turned them into joys, and they were really living life. Today, hard work rewards them with the satisfaction of living life on their own terms. I’ve lived my life admiring the spirit and energy of these authentic women of all ages. Personal principles like honour, loyalty and faith are at the heart of the cowgirl way of life. It is these simple, timeless principles and fundamental values, the cornerstone of a cowgirl’s life we can embrace because spiritual and ethical awareness are as important as the acquisition of academic skills.
The cowgirl philosophy is an unwritten code, principles by which the cowgirls of the Old West lived their lives and that were passed down for generations from mother to daughter until they became an intrinsic part of ranch life and culture. This code remains enforce still today and continues to be a source of inspiration to women in all walks of life.
Being cowgirl is about who and what you are on the ‘inside’ and a cowgirl spirit is a quiet and gentle firmness that defines what you believe is best for you. It acts as a compass to help you find your way home, and it gives you the courage to reach beyond the tangible to do the impossible and the fire that drives you to face each day with strength and hope. It’s given me the courage to be an authentic person, it has enriched my life in immeasurable ways, and it has instilled in me a valuable gift I have passed down to my daughters – a strong sense of self-worth.
Growing up, I was relentless in the pursuit of my cowgirl spirit. Ironically, it wasn’t until I reached forty-five that I understood what it meant to unleash that spirit and let it buck!
